    In this role your main focus would be to provide safe, sound and supportive care to the people you support. You will have working relationships with the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, and will play an important role in the lives of the people you support, as well as their families or loved ones. As a key member of the support team, you may be required to contribute to service user multi-disciplinary meetings.

     

    The support and care you provide will be respectful, dignified and caring, following each individual's person-centred care plan to promote choice and independence.

  • Based in the beautiful countryside near Darlington, County Durham, Newbus Grange is a specialist autism hospital providing assessment and intervention for up to 17 men living with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Newbus Grange is an impressive period property situated in a quiet semi-rural location with its own extensive grounds.

     

    There are many good sized living areas that people can choose to use. Other facilities include a life skills kitchen, sensory room, a sensory bathroom, massage therapy room, a well-stocked arts and crafts room and a music and movement room. Within the grounds there is an allotment, which is looked after by the people who use the service, a greenhouse, sensory garden, trim trail and cycle path. Newbus Grange also has fishing rights for an area of the River Tees close by. There is a large lawn with patio and seating areas for people and their visitors to enjoy.
