  • We support and care for adults living with a learning disability, who may also have a diagnosis of autism, in specialist supported living, residential services and hospitals. Our aim is to deliver effective and outcome based services within person centred, professional care environments, supporting people to have the most choice and independence possible. We set high standards for ourselves in the delivery of care, and most importantly, we put the people we support at the heart of everything we do.

    Within your role you will undertake work that is meaningful to the people we support in our services and socially important within the local community. You will be responsible for the preparation and provision of dietary meals for those in our care within the guidelines of care plans or service requirements.   • Based in the beautiful countryside near Darlington, County Durham, Newbus Grange is a specialist autism hospital providing assessment and intervention for up to 17 men living with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Newbus Grange is an impressive period property situated in a quiet semi-rural location with its own extensive grounds.

     

    There are many good sized living areas that people can choose to use. Other facilities include a life skills kitchen, sensory room, a sensory bathroom, massage therapy room, a well-stocked arts and crafts room and a music and movement room. Within the grounds there is an allotment, which is looked after by the people who use the service, a greenhouse, sensory garden, trim trail and cycle path. Newbus Grange also has fishing rights for an area of the River Tees close by. There is a large lawn with patio and seating areas for people and their visitors to enjoy.

    • Accreditation for Inpatient Learning Disability Mental Health Services (AIMS-LD) from the Quality Network for Inpatient Learning Disability Services (QNLD) by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
